Time is running out for K–12 students who live in or attend school in Community Board 7 to submit artwork for the board’s art exhibition contest; the drop-off deadline is Friday, Oct. 31. Selected pieces will liven up the CB7 office at 4201 Fourth Avenue.

The theme is “How I See My Community.” Students are encouraged to interpret and express what Sunset Park means to them, whether through neighborhood scenes, family and cultural traditions, favorite places, or moments of everyday life.

Submissions are accepted on paper sized 8.5 x 11 inches or 11 x 17 inches. Completed works can be dropped off at the CB7 office (entrance on 43rd Street) Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., through Oct. 31. Parents must complete a short application when dropping off artwork.

CB7 will not accept artwork that includes inappropriate words, images, designs, or phrases, or that displays personal identifying information. For questions, call 718-854-0003 or email BK07@cb.nyc.gov.

Community Board 7 covers Sunset Park and Windsor Terrace. The exhibition is intended to showcase the voices and perspectives of local students and to bring neighborhood stories into the public meeting space where decisions are made about streets, parks, housing, and services.
