July 2, 2025 (Wednesday)
Mystery Movie Night – HiFi Provisions Lounge (7:00–10:00 pm) – HiFi Lounge is transformed into a mini “drive-in” with lawn chairs and a concession stand. A surprise film will be screened. Snacks and drinks for sale. Location: HiFi Provisions Lounge, 653 5th Ave.
July 3, 2025 (Thursday)
Brooklyn Army Terminal Independence Day Celebration – Ferry Plaza, BAT (4:00–8:00 pm) – The BAT Summer Series kicks off with a family-friendly July 4th bash one day early. 4th of July BBQ Party – Soccer Tavern (starting at 1:00 pm) – Celebrate Independence Day with BBQ and drinks at Soccer Tavern, a neighborhood favorite since 1929. Location: Soccer Tavern, 6004 8th Ave.

Sunset Stoop: Embodied Writing Workshop (6:00–8:00 pm) – Join an Embodied Writing workshop at Sunset Stoop (4114 5th Ave). Local writer Niusha leads guided writing prompts incorporating movement and mindfulness. Free.

Library Newsroom & Community Dinner – Sunset Park Library (5:30–7:30 pm) – Be part of creating a neighborhood newsroom! Sunset Park Library is hosting a free community dinner and discussion on local news sharing. Come share ideas on strengthening community information networks. Dinner provided. Community Food Pantry – Sunset Park BID (2:00–4:00 pm) – Free food distribution at Sunset Park BID, 5320 5th Avenue, while supplies last.

Midsummer Open Mic – UPROSE Climate Justice Center (7:00 pm) – "It’s Getting Hot In Here" Open Mic Night – UPROSE teams up with the Nuyorican Poets Café for an evening of climate justice-themed poetry, music, and storytelling. Free admission; refreshments served. All ages welcome. Sign-up for performers begins at 6:30 pm. Location: UPROSE, 462 36th St.
Los Juanos and Cupid's Nemesis – Live at Sunset Stoop (9:00 PM) - Don’t miss San Antonio-based indie/alternative–regional Mexican band Los Juanos, along with local favorites Cupid's Nemesis, performing in the neighborhood for one night only. 21 and over. $10–15 suggested donation. Family Day Celebration Parade – 8th Avenue (10:00 am–5:30 pm) – Street fair hosted by the Brooklyn Chinese-American Association featuring entertainment rides, inflatable games, and carnival activities for kids. Rooftop Films: Selena y Los Dinos – Brooklyn Army Terminal (7:00–10:30 pm) – BAT welcomes Rooftop Films for a free outdoor movie night. Enter at 44th Street and 6th Avenue. Please bring a yoga mat or towel, water, and an open heart. A $10 donation is suggested but not required.
