About the Sunset Post

The Sunset Post is Sunset Park’s trilingual, hyper-local community newspaper.

Founded by editor and Sunset Park resident Lorenzo Tijerina, the Sunset Post provides local news, cultural coverage, and community insight to Sunset Park in Brooklyn, NY. Reflecting the neighborhood’s diverse population, every article is published in English, Spanish, and Chinese, with physical copies printed and distributed locally.

The Sunset Post was named to New York Magazine’s 2025 “Reasons to Love New York” list: “Because Sunset Park Now Has Its Own Trilingual Newspaper.”

The paper began as a way to learn more about what is happening in Sunset Park and to connect with our neighbors. It has grown into a shared space and an ongoing conversation about the things that matter to the people who live and work here.

The publication relies on a growing team of local writers, storytellers, artists, and photographers who bring different experiences, interests, and perspectives to our coverage. We believe the neighborhood’s everyday stories are worth reporting, preserving, discussing, and sharing across languages.
